After King Olaf Tryggvason revealed himself to be a Christian, his new subjects found themselves wondering why. After all, their new regent had spent so much time in the West, slaughtering Christians and pillaging their belongings.

So, what could have caused this conversion? Back in the Emerald Isles, Olaf and his men were subject to a vicious surprise attack - one that he barely escaped with his life. But it's said that before the ambush, he was warned by a fortune-teller, who instructed him to turn his back on the Old Gods and he might be spared.

Upon the fulfillment of the prophecy, it appears that the young King felt abandoned by the Gods of his fathers. Where was Odin in that battlefield? Could it be that God of War had truly forsaken him?

Was it possible the King of Norway was favored by Yahweh, instead of Odin?
